Microsoft loses all Sidekick users data

Regrettably, based on Microsoft/Danger’s latest recovery assessment of their systems, we must now inform you that personal information stored on your device – such as contacts, calendar entries, to-do lists or photos – that is no longer on your Sidekick almost certainly has been lost as a result of a server failure at Microsoft/Danger.

Wait so first I read that Microsoft buys Danger, the makers of the Sidekick, then they go a fire people from the team in waves while they try and make some new MS phone and now this! Talk about how to destroy your competition, and the best part is T-Mobile is setup to look like the bad guy. I really have no idea how you cannot get a backup of ANY DATA from a system, really Microsoft? You’re telling me that there’s not 1 single usable backup in the whole facility? Was it running on NT 4.0 or some shit? On top of that why would a phone wipe itself on every restart? Shouldn’t you need to send a command to the phone to wipe it’s database in case the servers are down instead of having the device wipe itself?
