Calling All Cars! PS3 Review
Calling All Cars! is a downloadable game from the Playstation Network by the makers of Twisted Metal Black. Now that might get your hopes up but not so fast, just because of the pedigree doesn’t mean this is going to be an insane game keeping you up at night. Calling All Cars! is a family friendly game, anyone can pick it up, nothing crude or offensive about this one, it’s simple to play yet there is some strategy to work on if you plan to come out on top the majority of the time. The game features a quick single player mode, a campaign mode and a multiplayer mode, with optional bots. Read the rest of this entry »
Chromium’s Guitar Hero: On Tour Review
I had a Vegas trip scheduled for last week, so I decided to pick up Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS for the trip. $50 and a toss of my dignity out the window and I was off. At least I impressed the kid next to me who only had a regular DS Lite.
Combat Arms Beta Review
Combat Arms is the new kid on the MMOFPS genre block and it looks to remind you of your Counter-Strike days. It’s your basic 2 team war waged on small to medium scale maps, some with objectives some without. You have a arsenal of weaponry to chose from before you head off into battle and some gadgets too. Battlefield Bad Company Demo Review
Battlefield Bad Company hopes to bring a good single player experience with cinematic story and multiplayer content to next-gen consoles. I had the chance to check out the BF: Bad Company demo on the PlayStation 3 and it is definitely next-gen material. The frostbite engine has a lot of features you would want in a new FPS hitting the market. Frostbite brings you dynamic lighting, fog, shadows, debris, concussion effects and finally it brings map destruction to the Battlefield series. Read the rest of this entry »
Full Tilt Remix - Limited edition remixes for the working DeeJay
I stumbled upon some tracks from Flashback Vol. 2 and Volumes 16 & 17. Highly recommended. Strong mix in beats and even steady tempo for all your mixing needs. The music is clean and original over brand new or punched up beats. Faithful to the original source material enough that you don’t cringe from being over remixed.
It was such a joy to listen to that it made me want to start mixing again. When was the last time that music made you feel that way? It even punches up normal every day hits you hear on the radio. This is what I want to be rocking in my ride from now on.
I just found my Vegas trip soundtrack. Who remixes Dave Matthews anyways? Brilliant! Tracks from Filter, 311 and The Steve Miller Band just prove that no style is unmixable.
Their bread and butter is obviously in current music and the monthly releases do a good job for up to date shit but what really shines is in the Flashbacks. This is an excellent supplement to Promo Only for DJ’s of all types.
Rock Band Hit Kit by Blockhead Review
So I stopped by Best Buy on the way home from work to pick up some drum silencers for my Rock Band drums and there for $20 is the Rock Band Hit Kit by Blockhead. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal, drum silencers, composite drum sticks, an height adjustable foot pedal& works on all Rock Band kits all for a Jackson and some change. Sitting next to it is the official Rock Band drum silencers sans sticks and pedal also for $20. So off I went feeling good that I got something extra for my money, or did I? Chromium’s Rock Band for the PS3 Review
I’ve had Rock Band for the PS3 now for close to a month, so here are my feelings on it. Overall it’s one of the best multiplayer games out there, and with downloadable content, it makes it a new experience every week.
Team Fortress 2 drops… but was it worth it?
Here’s my mini-review of the TF2 beta:
Let’s get this out of the way, there is no other way to pick up TF2 than to pay $50 to ValVe for the Orange Box and get Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2. End of story and if you think retail is going to help, HA! you got another thing coming. Now the graphics, yes they are just as good as seen in the trailers even on my lowly AMD 3700+ with a Radeon 800XL. On top of that the graphics settings bumped up one notch on auto detect except texture quality which stayed at medium. I had zero slow down on the 24 player servers I can across and got in some huge fire fights. All the little animations the characters make and the world around them is refreshing in all it’s non hyper realistic nature.
Mini World in Conflict Review
Being a longtime RTS fan, I’m talking Dune 2 for you n00bs, I will say World in Conflict (WiC) has got to be the most jaw dropping RTS experience I have ever played. And not to mention it’s hard but not in that I wanna fling my keyboard through my monitor like DooM’s Nightmare mode hard; no it has just that right amount of toughness to make me come back for more.
Now unlike an early RTS there is tons of shit going on, and not for show, everything has an effect on the battlefield. From buildings being destroyed, increasing your line of fire, to trees cleared out by tanks, leaving less areas for an enemy to hide. And being able to radio for air support/artillery is so much fun half the time I forget about my troops to keep calling in napalm on the Russians.
From what I seen in this demo, the great game play, the insane amount of detail in the graphics, the almost there sound and just how much fun it is I will say this is a must buy for RTS lovers and people who may want to give the RTS genre a shot.
See you on the battlefield. -Z
