Rock Band Hit Kit by Blockhead Review
So I stopped by Best Buy on the way home from work to pick up some drum silencers for my Rock Band drums and there for $20 is the Rock Band Hit Kit by Blockhead. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal, drum silencers, composite drum sticks, an height adjustable foot pedal& works on all Rock Band kits all for a Jackson and some change. Sitting next to it is the official Rock Band drum silencers sans sticks and pedal also for $20. So off I went feeling good that I got something extra for my money, or did I? US photographic company Delkin has developed a range of archival CDs and DVDs which claim to safely store images for up to 300 years. The secret ingredient? 24 karat gold.
i dunno, what you think about this Z?
AP Writer Rips Obama, Gives McCain Doughnuts
So anytime someone tries to tell that the media is tougher on John McCain than on Barack Obama, just think of Liz Sidotis doughnuts and her cozy relationship with John McCain. And dont forget the coffee — a little cream and a little sugar.
When We Reign, It Pours
How much responsibility do humans have for the floods disastrously deluging the Midwest? Of course the rain poured for days, but it fell on plowed-up prairies, drained fields, altered streams, no-longer-wetlands, and developed flood plains — all unable to absorb precipitation to the best of their natural ability. Between 2007 and 2008, more than 160,000 acres of Iowa land mostly covered with deep-rooted, water-absorbing grasses was taken out of a federal conservation-reserve program to be farmed mostly for corn.
ARM9 board gets firmware upgrade for 0.69-second Debian boot-ups – Engadget
…the company’s now gone and let loose a new firmware upgrade that cuts that down to under a second — 0.69 seconds, to be exact. As you might expect, that time is helped considerably by being able to boot the OS Debian Sarge, specifically off of the boards 512MB of NAND flash
Showtime Cultivates Weeds in June, Paired with Secret Diary of a Call Girl
Showtime will spark up “Weeds” a little earlier than in the past, setting a June premiere date for the fourth season of its acclaimed comedy series.
As was the case last summer, the pay-cable network will pair its veteran show with a newcomer — in this case, the British import “Secret Diary of a Call Girl.” Both shows are scheduled to debut Monday, June 16.
i used to read the “secret diary of a call girl” blog, it was quite interesting.
Doomsayers Predict New World Oil Crunch
Lynch laughingly recalls past flubbed forecasts of an oil apocalypse. One of the leading doomsayers at present is Colin Campbell of Petroconsultants in Geneva, who, Lynch says, “predicted in a 1989 article . . . that world oil production had peaked . . . and that the price would go to $40 to $50 a barrel in the early 1990s.
“And now its about $12 to $13.”

Portable Porn: Smartphone Users 20 Favorite Adult Web Sites
Where do mobile users find these sites? Few, if any, of the top 20 mobile porn sites are household names like Playboy or Penthouse — the one were most familiar with is YouPorn, which we calculated last month was the “X-rated YouTube.” This is the “long tail” at work. Fair warning: These sites, of course, are not work-safe.
AMD’s Cinema 2.0 demo: “you won’t just play movies, you’ll play in them” – Engadget
“Games so good they look like movies?” Why is it always movies, why can’t it be real life, since when did movies overtake the real world for the height of graphic ability? Anyway this does look damn good and since it was running on actualy hardware instead of some black box maybe this will be out sooner rather than later, i’m looking at you Aegia PhysX Processor. And hopefully all we need is DirectX 11 or whatever is out by the time this whole thing drops. My big question is it looks like you can see out pretty far on the horizon but what is actually being rendered and what is a backdrop?
The Great NERF Office War
Awesome video of people having way more fun at work than I ever will. However when we form THCorp and get the THC HQ, Fridays will be manditory NERF War day!
