Bran Identity – Slate

The visual puns in this ad are so bold—and so disgusting—that when I first saw it, I couldn’t quite believe what I’d seen. I immediately went online to watch it again, thinking: Did those barrels actually plop out from behind that guy’s butt?

Z says “Shut up and laugh you old farts” to Slate and “pass the All-Bran sirs, YOU ROCK” to Kelloggs.

Spherex Xbox 5.1 Review – The Audio Critic Articles

Going from the Xbox 5.1 to the very best systems known to me (represented by the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 5 and the Linkwitz Lab “Orion”), there are very few in-between steps of improvement. Maybe only two or at most three. It’s that close. Let the high-end police come and take me away in handcuffs.ÂÂ

I’ve wanted to see a proper review of these forever and damn it if I didn’t pick these up when I had a chance. At least now I solved the problem of what to use for a second system in the apartment. My only question is if you can just use the speakers and forgo the sub/amp combo, I’d love to put an SVS on these to get that missing deep bass.

Can $7250 audio cables beat Monster Cables? – James Randi Educational Foundation

Pear Cable, makers of the $7250 audio cables we showed you a couple of weeks ago, has accepted debunker James Randi’s challenge, where the former magician’s JREF (James Randi Educational Foundation) promised $1 million if anyone could prove the difference between Pear cables and their Monster Cable equivalent. Michael Fremer, who signs himself as “senior contributing editor, Stereophile Magazine will be the test subject.

Here’s a good quote from Mr. Fremer “…demagnetizing an LP definitively removed a high-frequency glaze or glare and seemed to enrich the midband… Demagnetizing LPs works. Better yet, once a record has been demagnetized, it seems to stay that way… And do not try one of these devices unless you’re prepared to buy it.” WOW, seriously, demagnetize an LP?? Quick someone tell DJ Shadow not to walk near his 60,000 LP’s with anything metallic.
