Extended Transformer movie in IMAX!
Extended Cut of ‘Transformers’ Hits IMAX Next Month – Cinematical
The IMAX version will be different from the original theatrical release, however — more footage is promised. No details are available yet, although it’s easy to guess that the added scenes are likely to be flashy special effects that will look fabulous on IMAX, as opposed to more backstory or dialogue. After all, no one is going to rush to see Transformers at IMAX so they can hear the conversations more clearly.

http://www.last100.com/2007/08/17/10-sites-for-free-legal-music/
The Live Music Archive has a large collection of live recordings from a wide range of artists, from David Gray to Mogwai, and there is also a lot of music from lesser known bands. Hand in hand with the Live Music Archive is archive.org’s collection of regular mp3s, including a good selection of out-of-copyright music.

I spent hours here. Also fun to experiment with google image search and their original names.
Wozniak’s New Goal is Efficient Housing
http://www.ecnmag.com/article.aspx?id=146610
You build a home out of a type of wood that keeps the temperature constant without air conditioning or heaters. The Southern Yellow Pine has a resin inside that melts and freezes at 71 degrees F., a very comfortable temperature for humans. The chemical actions of melting and freezing work to balance the temperature. If it’s a hot day, some small amount of the resin melts (it takes a huge amount of energy to melt a tiny amount) and the melting process pulls heat from the surroundings, from the home. When it gets colder at night, the resin-wood emits heat as it freezes.
props to my girl slapdash for knowing the woz!

uh… wow. we are screwed!
DVDs targeted to toddlers may delay vocabulary growth
The study reviews past literature that indicates a key crossover point may occur between the ages of two and three. After children reach three years of age, educational programs such as Blue’s Clues and Sesame Street have been shown to be beneficial to children. Prior to that, television viewing has been associated with attention, reading, and math deficits.

Time Warner Charges You $0.23 For The Coupons Included In Your Bill
I’m a Time Warner customer in Charlotte, NC and recently got my August bill. Looking over it as usual, there is a new fee “ADHSN Fee” of 23 cents. I know FCC and taxes, but ADHSN I didn’t comprehend. After calling customer service the agent was perplexed and finally realized that they were charging me for the Home Shopping Network ad/coupon they included in my bill.
