ISPs and the lies they tell about connection speed
The White Lies ISPs Tell About Broadband Speeds – PC Magazine
How would you feel if you pumped a gallon of gas only to find out that the service station’s meter was off by 10 percent in its favor? Obviously you would want the owners exposed immediately and demand a refund, and possibly even lodge a criminal complaint against the station. So, why does the consumer tolerate such shenanigans with their ISP?
Put simply, it’s a matter of expectations.
ISPs know that new and existing customers are largely comparing their Internet-speed experiences to dial-up connections.

How To Initiate Conversation
http://www.lifehack.org/articles/communication/how-to-initiate-conversation.html
All people are good in their own way. Being able to have a good time with anybody is a worthy trait and something to discuss another time. However, if you have a specific purpose while in social situations you may want to stick with people who are suitable.
1 in 5 Americans believe Sun revolves around the Earth
http://www.eightballmagazine.com/diatribes/volume02/034/708.htm
For the democratic process to run properly it necessitates the voter to have some knowledge of what he is voting on. If you are going to vote on something like stem cell research you should at least know what it is, correct? Well the question is, how can Americans vote on such things as global warming, stem cell research, cloning and what have you when basic scientific fundamental concepts fly right over our heads.
“American adults in general do not understand what molecules are (other than that they are really small). Fewer than a third can identify DNA as a key to heredity. Only about 10 percent know what radiation is. One adult American in five thinks the Sun revolves around the Earth, an idea science had abandoned by the 17th century.”
wow, 20% of the country.
The Guy Who Called It

…it would enable Bush and Cheney to continue the strategy they have successfully pursued in deterring journalists seeking their explanations with claims that they shouldn’t comment on an ongoing legal proceeding. If Bush were to pardon Libby, he and Cheney would no longer have such a rationale for evading the press’ questions – nor would Libby be able to claim the right against self-incrimination to resist testifying before Congress about the role that Cheney and Bush played in directing his conduct.
One Month of Sponsored Blogging and I’m Fine
http://www.electricvenom.com/?p=8792
Then at the beginning of June I signed up for PayPerPost. Two weeks and several paid blogging opportunities later, I registered with two other blog advertising sites: PayU2Blog and Smorty. I’m using those paid link placements, along with sponsored reviews for PPP, on both blogs now. (And I’m disclosing it, too.)
Washington State to Set Medical Marijuana Limits
In Oregon, patients are allowed up to 24 ounces of pot and two dozen plants at different stages of growth. New Mexico, the latest state to pass a medical marijuana law, plans to allow up to six ounces of marijuana, four mature plants and three immature seedlings.
Babies not as innocent as they pretend

Behavioural experts have found that infants begin to lie from as young as six months. Simple fibs help to train them for more complex deceptions in later life.
Infants quickly learnt that using tactics such as fake crying and pretend laughing could win them attention. By eight months, more difficult deceptions became apparent, such as concealing forbidden activities or trying to distract parents’ attention.
