Why Use Software Illegally When You Can Use Legally – Linux and Open Source Blog

If you run Linux and install free software, you won’t have to worry about this ever again! Most of free (as in free speech) software is free (as in free beer). You can find a free replacement for most of the commercial software out there. They might lack some of the advanced functionality, but they’ll be more than enough for most people. Here’s a list of some commercial software, and their open source equivalents :

Acoustic guitarist Kate Walsh has knocked Take That off the top of the iTunes download album chart – but does not even own an iPod. The 23-year-old guitarist recorded her album in a friend’s bedroom and named it Tim’s House in his honour. 
Kate Walsh’s album Tim’s House has topped the iTunes download album chart. The homemade album has proved a unexpected hit with iPod fans who had downloaded it from the iTunes website in their thousands – knocking Take That and Kaiser Chiefs from the top spots.

When inquiring with a clerk why he was on the list, Murphy was asked if he had participated in any peace marches.

Like most local 411 services, “Goog-411” (nicknamed after the service’s phone number, 1-800-GOOG-411) offers users the ability to find businesses of nearly any ilk and even connects callers directly when they find the information they’re looking for. Goog-411 also offers something that most 411 services do not: the ability to receive that information via text message to a mobile phone. Simply saying the words “text message” to the automated system after receiving query results will prompt the system to send the user an SMS with those same results.
