Bill Gates says West not producing enough IT talent.
By West he means the US. Portable screens in your pocket though? Who knew?
Ghetto Big Mac THC Style
Ok So after looking at that video I had to try it out myself. First of all the McDonalds by me didn’t have the Double Cheeseburger for $1 on their menu. But they did have what they call a Daily Double for $1.50. I also ordered a regular Big Mac for comparison and a small fries to round it out.
The Big Mac is $2.69, The Daily Double is $1.50. The meat is the same, same lettuce, same cheese etc. The Big Mac comes with rehydrated onions, 4 pickles, lettuce and 2 slices of cheese, an extra bun and Big Mac Sauce. The Daily Double comes with fresh onions, a fresh tomato slice, 2 pickles, lettuce, a slice of cheese and mayonnaise, but I substituted that out for Big Mac Sauce. Yes the buns are different, but I don’t care one way or another about sesame seeds, so it was not a big deal to me. Plus I’m not a big fan of the extra bread anyways. It’s filler.
The taste of the Daily Double is fresher, I think because #1 it’s a special order and #2 it’s got real onions and a real tomato as opposed to a generic off the shelf Big Mac. So save yourself $1.19 the next time you get an urge for a Big Mac and order a Daily Double no mayo plus mac sauce (THC style). And don’t buy the medium or large fries, stick with the small. You won’t want to eat that much anyways, and if you do, you’re a fat pig. (Not like you weren’t in the first place for having a Big Mac Attack anyways). If you’re really hungry order 2 Daily Doubles. It’ll be more filling in the end.
Pics on my blog. Somehow linking the pics got broken, or maybe they dont allow linking of pics. Whatever.
Miles away, ‘I’ll have a burger’ Fast food drive-throughs go long distance
http://www.boston.com/business/globe/articles/2006/11/05/miles_away_ill_have_a_burger/
The Burbank store is one of several Wendy’s restaurants around the country that have been testing the concept, and franchisees plan to expand to at least 200 stores by next spring because the initial tests are so promising. Other fast-food companies, including Burger King, Panda Express, and McDonald’s, have also started routing drive-through calls to remote locations to get faster and more accurate orders and let in-store employees concentrate on making food, keeping the store clean, and ringing up sales.
Taking out carry-out, a month of home cooking
http://www.slashfood.com/2006/11/08/taking-out-carry-out-a-month-of-home-cooking/
Overall, the family learned that cooking at home was just as tasty as restaurant food and they enjoyed it more. They saved over $200 and Mary Ann lost 7 pounds during the switch.
