Over time, I’ve come across various bits of information that I didn’t feel deserved their own post but that might be interesting to regular readers and the great number of people who accidentally Google their way here. I began collecting them into a single post, in what was at one point a short list of odds and ends but which now exists as something a bigger-than-planned list of name etymologies, translation oddities, my own geek theories — with footnotes, no less.

The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie.

Colby couldn’t see the screen because the pain kept her eyes closed so her mother gave her a play-by-play of the film.

Colby died about seven hours after seeing the film.

WOW! That’s about the coolest thing I think I’v ever heard. Big props to Pixar for helping someone out, especially a child.

Following a report from the Sunday Mercury via Inside Time stating inmates at HMP Rye Hill Warwickshire were not allowed PS3 consoles and reports from the Guardian claiming PS3s were removed from prisons IncGamers contacted the Ministry of Justice to clarify matters. “There are not and never have been Playstation 3s at HMP Rye Hill. “

Hey would you look at that, media hysteria for nothing, gee can we get another helping of terrorist fear mongering now that prisoners don’t have PS3’s. On top of that they also add this fun fact:

All 18-rated console games are banned. The cost of purchasing consoles and games now rests solely on the prisoner and is not met by the taxpayer.

Holy crap, even a 6 year old nagging their parents can play GTA 37, and I’m guessing all these guys really are over 18. So the ESRB actually is stricter in prison but what about the children?? =)

Dragon Age reveals something else in it’s PC Specs, you see in a gaming world filled with doe eyed, giant breast, 8 pack ab females that would make Grace Jones wimper we have something refreshing. That woman up there in the pic looks almost plausible that you could pick her up at a bar or hell gaming convention since she’s in costume. And what would your mother think, well she would love her of course! I mean she can entertain all your little rat faced cousins all day with her magic tricks and afterwards you two can go bust some demon ass online, she’s practically perfect. Take note game devs, sometimes it’s the little things that get us to notice your games; and if you’re game sucks well giant breats on the cover do help.
