Sony dropped their original $500 PS3 from store shelves back in April of 2007. This may have been a strategic move on Sony’s part to position themselves to yank the virtual tablecloth from under all of us. A nice magic trick indeed. With the stage set heading into E3, Sony announced that they were dropping the price of the PS3 to $500. I can finally stop jerking off to the thought of Jade Raymond hopping around my bed like a blanket bunny! Sony then added an 80GB PS3 to fill the $600 gap.
