More on the IWNET debacle for Modern Warfare 2 For PC

This is Infinity Ward’s response. The party system certainly sounds like a feature I could get behind, the implementation though seems a bit clumsy. And claiming VAC is the be all end all for cheating is certainly wrong, as we’ve seen our fair share of cheaters in TF2 which uses VAC if I’m not mistaken.

why is everyone bitching about this? When I first heard about it, I was like WTF? But this sounds an awful lot like what valve did with L4D. No server browser sound familiar?

Everyone is bitching because L4D is 4 and 8 players and the dedicated servers run in the background, yet still are kinda shitty. IW is giving us no dedicated servers at all, and we all know how well 16 people run on L4D, now try that on your home machine and tell me how great it will run. L4D had minimal dedicated server support from the get go and still has problems getting everyone a good ping at 8 people, saying no dedicated servers is asking for trouble above that. I could go on and on but if you don’t see a problem with zero dedicated servers buy it, I surely won’t be.
