Absolutely! I am finding that my mp3 cd’s are already having problems, and they go back to about 10 years now. 1998 was when I burned my first. I’m already considering transfering it all to HDD and then archiving to blu-ray or dvd. I’ll save a whole lot of space as well.

Article was kind of weak, all it does it rehash the same info over and over. Of the 350 CD’s I copied to HD, 16 had errors, and of those errors no disc was more than 10% unreadable. Buy quality media and store it well, I’ve been saying this to all you fools who buy cheap shit onsale.
Zombie you know we all swear by Verbatim Blue AZO. Thats all I archive to. That said, I noticed similar failure rates when I moved my MP3s to HD… a few CDs had errors, but none were totally shot (two albums lost per CD, max).
That said, with 1TB drives selling for less than $100, you really dont have an excuse to have something stored on just a CDR. Copy to HD, save the CDs for emergency, and for the love of Obama buy yourself a fire-proof, water-proof, media rated safe and keep a drive in there.
